A former McDonald’s chef has revealed how you can save money on a Big Mac by ordering a different burger, which is $2 cheaper and ‘better.’
Illinois-based Mike Haracz, who worked at the franchise until 2019, took to TikTok to spill the secrets.
He explained how you can save a couple of bucks by ordering a ‘McDouble like a Mac.’
The chef noted that the nearly-identical burger is the ‘superior way’ and only has one slice of cheese and no middle bun, just like a Big Mac.

The viral video, which has so far amassed over 93,000 views, was captioned: ‘Don’t order a McDonald’s Big Mac ever again.’
While duetting a clip of someone making a McDouble like a Mac, he said: ‘Don’t order a Big Mac, you should order this every time.’
He explained that by getting a McDouble you can save ‘$2.’
‘If a restaurant is not willing to do that for you, maybe don’t go to that one, go to a different one,’ he said.
He branded the similar burger the ‘superior way.’
‘The McDouble only has one slice of cheese just like a Big Mac, there’s no middle bun, and it’s so much better and cheaper,’ he added.
According to Mobile Cuisine, a Big Mac is $3.99. While a McDouble is $2.52, depending on the location.
